Step 1: Activate

This article will walk you through setting up the NetDocuments Integration with LawToolBox: 

  1. Admin user for LawToolBox sign-in to admin.lawtoolbox.com 
  2. Firm > Manage Plugins > NetDocuments > Activate
  3. Firm > Firm Settings > Turn off SharePoint options for "Document Management"
  4. NetDocuments > Customized Link > Generate Link > Copy
  5. Select > NetDocuments Admin Console > Select Cabinet > Define workspace templates > Overview > Add web page

Step by step:

1.1. Activate Plugin

  • Admin user for LawToolBox sign-in to  admin.lawtoolbox.com 
  • Firm > Manage Plugins > NetDocuments > Activate

1.2. Firm Settings Recommendation:

  • Firm > Firm Settings >  Document Management > Turn OFF all > Update
  • Default: SharePoint options


1.3. Get a Customized Link

Select Cabinet > Generate link > Copy


1.4. Add a Custom link to NetDocuments 

Go to NetDocuments Admin Console

Click on the cabinet you use for "client matters" if you have more than one cabinet:


Top right corner: "Define workspace templates" link

Scroll down to "Overview" > Add web page


1.5. Edit Webpage Template:

  • Web Page Label: LawToolBox
  • Height: 700 pixels
  • URL: Paste copied customized link from LawToolBox

Save template:


LawToolBox will now show up on all "new" matters in NetDocuments

  • Your NetDocuments may have access to "refresh" all workspaces
  • Or you can refresh the NetDocuments workspace per matter



1.6. Optional: 

Check admin.lawtoolbox.com to audit cases that have been connected to the workspace
